How is Dysport® different from Botox®?

The answer is simply a molecule size. Both Dysport and Botox are from the same family of botulinum toxin products. Botox has been on the market the longest and it’s molecule is large compared to Dysport, which has been on the market since 2007. To help understand the difference on molecular level, Botox is a size of a quarter and Dysport is the size of a dime, hence the difference in the amount of units. For example, 20 units of Botox is the same as 50 units of Dysport. Hope this makes it clearer to understand.

Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are products such as collagen, hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyl apatite that rejuvenate facial skin by reducing or eliminating wrinkles, raising scar depressions, enhancing lips and replacing soft-tissue volume loss through facial injections.

Dermal fillers, sometimes called soft tissue fillers, are substances designed to be injected beneath the surface of the skin to add volume and fullness. Substances used in dermal fillers include:

  • * Calcium hydroxylapatite, which is a mineral-like compound found in bones.
  • * Hyaluronic acid, which is found in some fluids and tissues in the body that add
  • * plumpness to the skin.
  • * Polyalkylimide, a transparent gel that is compatible with the body.
  • * Polylactic acid, which stimulates the skin to make more collagen.
  • * Polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres (PMMA), a semi-permanent fille

Each one of these is designed to treat different signs of aging or other cosmetic issues. The time they take to work, as well as how long they last, also vary. Some fillers last 6 months, while others last up to 2 years or longer. People should discuss their individual needs and expectations with their doctor to determine what filler would be the best choice for them.

What can dermal fillers correct?

  • * Plump up thinning lips
  • * Enhance or fill in shallow areas on the face
  • * Decrease or remove the shadow or wrinkle under the eyes caused by the lower eyelid
  • * Fill in or soften the look of recessed scars
  • * Fill in or soften static wrinkles, especially on the lower face. Static wrinkles include those around the mouth and restorer volume and cheeks. These wrinkles are usually a result of a loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin

Micro-Needling

What is Micro-Needling?

Micro-Needling treatment is used to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. This med aesthetics procedure uses a bunch of tiny needles to puncture the very first layer of skin. This process works to rejuvenate your skin by boosting collagen production which in turn reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines while also elevating the overall texture of your skin.

Micro-Needling, a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure, treats skin concerns via collagen production. This med spa procedure is mostly used on the face for the treatment of various scars, wrinkles, and large pores. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this treatment may help you if you are looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks. It’s also used in certain anti-aging procedures such as sun spots. Micro-Needling isn’t effective for hair loss, despite the possible role of collagen in hair growth. We only use Skin Pen which a FDA approved.

What is Restylane Filler?

As we age, the fat in the cheek area begins to deteriorate. As a consequence, the skin begins to sag, wrinkles become prominent, and you may notice considerable volume reduction in the mid-face area. Restylane fillers, which was formerly known as Perlane-L®, is a hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into the cheek area to treat the deep folds and wrinkles in this particular facial area. Through non-surgical injections, Restylane fillers provides fullness and volume for a more natural and youthful appearance.

Fillers help enhance and replace back the volume loss that we lose with aging which starts in the 30's .

Restylane Filler Procedure Overview:

During your consultation we will pinpoint key areas on your face to ascertain where to inject the hyaluronic acid gel. There are minimum side effects but some patients do report a little tenderness and some swollen areas, which typically dissipates within a few days.
